Understand the exam

The MDL1 exam has 4 questions in 3 hours: the problem statement, the orbital parameters, your full mission concept (payload, subsystems and operations), and one mission design file that you upload. You need 90 out of 100 to pass. Papers are graded by Dr Ifriky Tadadjeu.

Pay in one go or in instalments

The certification costs 100,000 FCFA. You can pay in instalments over 6 months. Each payment must be one of 10,000, 15,000, 25,000, 30,000, 50,000 or 100,000 FCFA. A progress bar shows how much you paid and the days left.

Choose your exam session

Sessions are monthly certification weeks. Pick one before its registration deadline and confirm. If you finish paying after the deadline, you are registered automatically for the next available session.

Practise with the mock exam

Once you have paid in full and hold a confirmed session, the mock exam opens during certification week. It has the same 4 questions and a 3 hour countdown. Nothing is sent to the graders, your answers stay on your device.

Take the exam

The exam takes place on the Sunday that closes certification week. You can start between 12:00 and 15:00 WAT and it closes at 18:00 WAT, so start before 15:00 to have the full 3 hours. Answer the written questions and upload your mission file.

Get your result

If you pass, you can download your official MDL1 certificate as a PDF. If you fail, one retake is allowed for 30,000 FCFA. If you fail the retake, you start again with a new full payment.

Let anyone check your certificate

Every certificate has a number and a public verification page at /verify followed by that number. Employers can type it to confirm the certificate is real.
