Community: rooms, questions and answers
Ask a question, answer a colleague, follow a topic and report a text that should not be there. Some rooms are for certified members.
Open the Community
The page lists the rooms. A room shows who reads it and who writes in it. Rooms are opened by certification level: everybody who is signed in, people preparing the certification, certified members, and the NMD team. A room you may only read says Read only.
This page needs a free account.
Search before you ask
Use Search the topics at the top of the page, or Search this room inside a room. Many questions already have a chosen answer.
Ask a question or start a discussion
Open a room and press Ask a question. Choose A question or A discussion, write one clear sentence as the title, then the details. You can add up to five tags separated by commas, for example orbit, link-budget. You can use bold, lists with a dash and links.
Answer and vote
Open a topic and write your answer under Your reply, then press Reply. Vote for the answers that helped you. The person who asked a question can press This solved it on the answer that worked, and it is shown first as the Chosen answer.
Follow a topic
Press Follow on a topic to be told of new replies. You follow your own topics from the start. Press Stop following when you have had enough.
Report a text
If a text breaks the rules, press Report, say what is wrong with it and send the report. The moderators read it. You can edit or remove your own texts.
- Write the question the way you would say it to a colleague, and say what you already tried. You get better answers.
- Do not put names, phone numbers or private details in a post.
- A person who is muted by a moderator can still read, for 7 days.
